THE ROAD SWEEPER {Mk.4:4}.....
© By: Michael P. Johnson
I came upon a jewel one day
No better man's yet found
This treasure someone threw away
Or dropped upon the ground
I sweep the roads that's what I do
In every weather out
I clean the streets to look as new
I rid what's tossed about
Sweeping one day without a care
Pleased as a soul could be
Suddenly it lay just there
Crumpled for all to see
I'm pleased that night it failed to rain
Gutters were dry and clean
It could have floated down the drain
And no one would have seen
I could have thrown it in the sack
Like any other time
But when I read what's on the back
It would have been a crime
I have it safe for all to see
Near my God blessed heart
More worth than worldwide gold to me
From which I'll never part
The inside's clean, the words are true
It's just a tract that's free
But still I pray it does for you
The same it did for me
My tale for now is at an end
What's on the back; you say?
A message true from God my friend
Is "SOME FELL BY THE WAY".....
